ভক্তদের এমন প্রশ্নের উত্তর জানতে চিত্রজগত প্রতিবেদক কথা বলেন চিত্রনায়িকা শাবনাজের সঙ্গে। এই শিল্পী বলেন, ‘দুই কন্যা সন্তান নিয়ে বাসায় নিরাপদেই আছি। করোনার এই সময়টাতে সতর্কতার সঙ্গেই চলছি। দেশের মানুষকেও বলছি, আপনারাও সচেতন ও সতর্ক থাকুন।’

নাঈম-শাবনাজ দম্পতি নিরাপদে আছেন কিন্তু করোনার এই দুর্যোগে দেশের সব মানুষ ভালো নেই। স্বল্প আয়ের মানুষগুলো কাজ না করতে পেরে বিপাকে পড়েছেন। এরই মধ্যে তাদের পাশে দাঁড়িয়েছেন বেশ কিছু শোবিজ তারকাসহ সমাজের বিত্তবানেরা।
এ পরিস্থিতিতে জমিদার পরিবারের সন্তান নাঈম কী করছেন স্বল্প আয়ের মানুষদের জন্য? এমন প্রশ্নের উত্তরে শাবনাজ বলেন, ‘আমরা আমাদের মতো করে মানুষের সহযোগিতা করে যাচ্ছি। আমরা চাই না, মানুষের জন্য কিছু করে তা সংবাদমাধ্যমে জানাই। যারা জানার তারা জানেন। আমরা শো করতে চাই না।’

তিনি আরো বলেন, ‘আপনারা হয়তো জানেন টাংগাইলে আমাদের বাড়ি আছে। ওখানে আমাদের পরিবারের লোকজন আছেন। তাদের মাধ্যমে সেখানকার মানুষদের সহযোগিতা করছি।’
বর্তমানে চলচ্চিত্রাঙ্গন থেকে দূরে রয়েছেন নাঈম-শাবনাজ। নাঈম এখন ব্যবসা নিয়ে ব্যস্ত আর শাবনাজ ব্যস্ত সংসার নিয়ে। অভিনয় ক্যারিয়ারে তারা জুটি বেঁধে বিশটির মতো সিনেমায় অভিনয় করেছেন। এর মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য হলো—‘জিদ’, ‘লাভ’, ‘চোখে চোখে’, ‘অনুতপ্ত’, ‘বিষের বাঁশি’, ‘সোনিয়া’, ‘টাকার অহংকার’, ‘সাক্ষাৎ’, ‘ঘরে ঘরে যুদ্ধ’ প্রভৃতি।
