মা মারা যাওয়ার চার দিনের মাথায় মারা গেলেন শক্তিমান ভারতীয় অভিনেতা ইরফান খান। আজ বুধবার (২৯ এপ্রিল) সকালে মুম্বাইয়ের কোকিলাবেন ধীরুভাই আম্বানি হাসপাতালে তার মৃত্যু হয়েছে।

মাত্র চার দিন আগে তাঁর মা রাজস্থানের জয়পুরে মারা যান। লকডাউনের কারণে সেখানে পৌঁছতে পারেননি ইরফান। তবে বেশ কিছু সংবাদমাধ্যমের দাবি, অসুস্থতার জন্যই মায়ের শেষকৃত্যে যেতে পারেননি অভিনেতা। তবে ভিডিওকলে মায়ের দাফন কার্যক্রম দেখেছেন দূর থেকে।
ব্রেনে টিউমার নিয়ে বেশ কয়েক বছর ধরে লড়াই করছেন তিনি। সুস্থ হয়ে ‘আংরেজি মিডিয়াম’ ছবির মধ্যে দিয়ে কামব্যাকও করেছিলেন তিনি। কিন্তু আবারও অসুস্থ হয়ে ভর্তি হলেন ইনফেকশন নিয়ে। আজ  সকালে হাসপাতালেই তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়।

অনুরাগীদের উদ্দেশে বুধবার টুইটারে ইরফান লেখেন,জীবনে জয়ী হওয়ার সাধনায় মাঝে মধ্যে ভালবাসার গুরুত্ব ভুলে যাই আমরা।তবে  দুর্বল সময় আমাদের তা মনে করিয়ে দেয়। জীবনের পরবর্তী ধাপে পা রাখার আগে তাই খানিক ক্ষণ থমকে দাঁড়াতে চাই আমি। অফুরন্ত ভালবাসা দেওয়ার জন্য এবং পাশে থাকার জন্য আপনাদের সকলকে কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাতে চাই। আপনাদের এই ভালবাসাই আমার যন্ত্রণায় প্রলেপ দিয়েছে। তাই ফের আপনাদের কাছেই ফিরছি। অন্তর থেকে কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাচ্ছি সকলকে।

হ্যাঁ, বেশ ভালোভাবেই ফিরে এসেছিলেন ইরফান। শুরু করেছিলেন অভিনয়ও। তাঁর শেষ মুক্তি পাওয়া ছবি “আংরেজি মিডিয়াম’ লকডাউনের জেরে থিয়েটার রিলিজ হয়নি। দুই ছেলে আর আর স্ত্রীকে রেখে ইরফান পাড়ি দিলেন নতুন দুনিয়ায়। মৃত্যূকালে তার বয়স হয়েছিল ৫৩ বছর।

ইরফান ১৯৬৭-র ৭ জানুয়ারি ভারতের জয়পুরে একটি মুসলিম সম্ভ্রান্ত পরিবারে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন।  তিনি ১৯৮৪ সালে নয়া দিল্লির ন্যাশনাল স্কুল অব ড্রামা (এনএসডি) থেকে স্কলারশিপের অর্জন করেন, যদিও তিনি তখন এমএ ডিগ্রীর জন্য অধ্যয়নরত ছিলেন। সেখান থেকে তিনি ড্রামাটিক আর্টসে ডিপ্লোমা করেন।

ইরফান খান হচ্ছেন এমন একজন ভারতীয় চলচ্চিত্র অভিনেতা হিসেবে তিনি বলিউড, ব্রিটিশ ভারতীয়, হলিউড তেলেগু এবং বাংলাদেশের ছবিতেও কাজের জন্য পরিচিত। তিনি ২০১২ সালের মার্কিন চলচ্চিত্র অ্যামেজিং স্পাইডার ম্যান-এ অভিনয় করে প্রশংসা অর্জন করেন। এছাড়া তিনি হলিউডের সিনেমা জুরাসিক ওয়ার্ল্ড, লাইফ অব পাই-এ অভিনয় করেন। বাংলাদেশে তিনি পরিচালক মোস্তফা সরওয়ার ফারুকীর ডুব চলচ্চিত্রে অভিনয় করে অনেকের মন জয় করেছেন।
